Hi Room 2!
Have a great Easter break. See if you can find out why we have Easter eggs. Post a comment to tell us why.
we have been working on are Japanese Restaurants menus!
The Sneetches are reading Winnie Whistlebritches. We found the sentence:
"Week after week, Winnie rode down from the hills, whistling and whooping in a wild, caterwauling way."
This sentence sounds great because it has alliteration. Alliteration is where words start with the same sentence.
We had to use a dictionary to help us find the meaning of caterwauling. We dropped the -ing to look in the dictionary so we looked up caterwaul. It means to scream like a cat.
We have two new words to use in our writing. Caterwaul and authentic!

Menu writing

We made a big practice menu in pairs. We made a menu rubric to tell us what a good menu will look like. We had to find out about Japanese food. Now we are making our Japanese menu.
We are planning what will be inside the sushi for our restaurant.
We are making a menu to tell people what they can get and how much it will cost.

Room 2 are opening a Japanese Restaurant. We have been learning about some Japanese art. Check out some of the pictures of our bamboo.

In the weekend it was our school fair. Here is our reflection.
PLUS
Things were cheap.
There were lots of lollies and books.
There was lots of people helping.
There were loads of helium balloons.
There was lots of books and toys.
There were heaps of people.

MINUS
I ran out of money fast.
That I didn't know where my stall was.

SUGGESTIONS
More activities to do.
Dunking machine.
Spread the stalls out more.
Guitar heroes instead of Sing Star.
