Poetry

Tackle Rugby
I got the ball, heart beating.
I got tackled, body bounding.
I scored a try, ball sliding.
By Donte

Poetry

Grandma tells me
to eat my tea.
But I can't,
Why?
Because this plate face with,
cucumber eyes,
a piece of pizza nose,
banana mouth with cheese teeth,
and tomato cheeks that are turning red,
with brussel sprout teas dribbling from the eyes,
Is crying, "Don't eat me please,"
By Leah

Poetry

Sara tells me
to eat my tea.
But I can't,
Why?
Because this plate face
with sausage eyes,
carrot nose,
sauasge lips,
chip cheeks and
yellow corn tears.
"Don't eat me," it cries.
By Sharleka

Poetry

A tree grows by our gate.
In winter,
it's a broken bone.
In Spring,
blossoms fill the air.
In summer,
it's a green galaxy with green leaves.
In autumn,
it's blooming with colour.
By Tarah

Can you find Tarah's metaphor?

Poetry

My Mum tells me to
eat my tea.
But I can't
Because this plate face
has beetroot eyes
a chip nose
a sausage mouth
It cries peas.

Don't eat me it says!
By Kate

Poetry

We are learning about metaphors. Metaphors are where we say something is something else.

Seasons
A tree grows by our gate
In winter
it's coming back from the dead.
In spring
it's balloons bursting.
In summer
it's a guard standing tall.
In autumn
it's crying.

Can you find the lines that use a metaphor?

Poetry

Freckles

Freckles are orange
Freckles are brown
But mostly they are
big and round.

Popcorn Measurement

Room 2 had to make containers to hold a cup of popcorn. Was your container too small, too big or just right?

What's behind the door?

His heart was pounding. He was sure that he had seen the doorknob turn. He went through the door and saw a three-headed bat.
Sean
Her heart was pounding. She was sure that she had seen the doorknob turn. The door swung open. Running away poor Misty was heartbroken from losing her mother. She ran up the stairs. Looking around furiously a man stepped in the doorwa locking the door behind him. The man, sniffing the air, snuck up the stairs. Entering the room, the man looked around. While the man went to the toilet, Misty ran to the door. It was locked. Steps were sounding down the stairs, the man found Misty.
